Mobility is hot and trendy – PocketMobile’s seminar attracted 170 participants On 29 September this year we organized the yearly full-day event about "Mobility now and in the future". The interest was high and the Wenner-Gren Center auditorium was full of interested mobility enthusiasts. Jon Gylling, CTO and Fredrik von Sydow, Strategic Manager, on PocketMobile talked about future visions and strategies for the PreCom Platform. The partner strategy is now a fact and many partner companies have started to develop and rollout mobile solutions to its customers, all based on the PreCom Platform. Companies like Tieto, Hands, Creuna and SYSteam talked about what, how and why they develop mobile solutions on PreCom Platform. Leif Olof Wallin from Gartner gave a presentation focused on mobility trends and how PreCom and PocketMobile is part of the mobile eco-system. The presentation was aimed primarily at developers and people who need to be at the forefront regarding mobile operating systems and mobile broadband. As always, Microsoft showed off its best side and showed the new Windows Phone 7 that will be available on the market soon. It looks really promising for consumer users. For business applications, Windows Mobile 6.5 and earlier versions are retained for at least a couple of years, which feels good for everyone who needs rugged mobile devices. A brief summary of what Peter Wissinger thought about the seminar can be found on his blog. Fortum, Panaxia, MLT, G4S, the City of Stockholm and DSB are all companies that use mobile solutions based on PreCom today and representatives informed about their mobility projects; possibilities, advantages and lessons learned. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all speakers, participants and exhibitors! See you again next year. |
